My Muse

Muse: "the goddess or the power regarded as inspiring a poet, artist, thinker, or the like." this is not quite what i had in mind when we were told to find a muse for this project. so now I'm a little confused. i think they meant character... a person, especially with reference to behavior or personality, a person represented in a drama, story, etc. a part or role, as in a play or film. so I've looked through my many albums of ideas and images and i think she is in here... 


I'm deciding between inspired by this feeling and would you like to swing on a star.. somewhere in the middle and the end one. i just cant decide. maybe ill sleep on it.. or what about Sugar Snap. ?!

new idea...

i was looking through we heart it for typography and quotes for tech. but now i look back i think i got a little distracted and im not sure what i was there for in the first place. huh. whoops. anyway... this eventually led me to  a blog... What I Wore which is an amazing idea. i love that she has photos of herself each day! and she is so well dressed all the time! this has prompted me to do the same, minus an image of me. so today...

why; well to be honest my other jeans were in the wash and i havent worn these jeans for ages. and i love my Banksy hoodie, and i am totally in love with my new(ish) boots that are super comfortable and look awesome! have had many comments on them! and i dont ever take my bracelet off or my earring out, they are both very special to me.

This one word was our brief over the holidays. huh. i was a little stumped as you could imagine. i looked into the meaning, like the person, the object and the idea and everything to do with it. but i found some totally awesome incredible images while researching! check some out...

well that idea failed miserably...

writing this once a week is hard... what with so much work to do!! its crazy busy at the moment! however... since tech is all about ourselves we do a lot of research into what/who inspires us... and i still love Tim Walker... and ive found crystals. i used to have one in my window... but i left it at home when i moved back here to dunedin :( so i found some pictures instead... of ones i love! which just happen to include some Tim Walker. whoops :p

Celebrations...for loss.

this weekend a wonderful woman passed away. the only person who never got my sister and i muddled (we pretty much look like twins) i shall miss her interesting describing skills conststing of "wotsits" and "do-das" and "thingames" among others. its a shame i lived the other side of the world. i wanted her to be at my wedding, to meet my children, and show them all her world, where she bought up my mum and her sister, her tiny house in Bristol, her smaller than our front lawn garden. i shall remember the fun memories I've had in that house with my own sister with fondness.

 I'll miss you Nan. xxx

well hello there stranger...

Its been a long time... too long in fact. now I'm going to try write here once a week. at least!

This week is my first proper week back at Polytech...  http://www.otagopolytechnic.ac.nz/  an so far it has been pretty good. (in saying that Ive just realised its still Monday. still day number 1!) last week was a group week, where the brief was to "reinvent" denim. by using the pairs of old denim jeans given by an op-shop! in teams with fashion students of all years, 5 of us came up with this design "A Day at the Races" 

it was a great 3 days working with some unexpectedly wonderful people!

Princess Tiara

My new (2 weeks ago) external harddrive needs a name. 

all my USB sticks have names. i enjoy naming them. it makes me try harder not to loose them.cos they have a name and a personality. well that makes me sound nutty, not personalities just ah. i dont know how to explain it. i have Black Beauty, Evangaline, Button Face, Pickle Jar and another one which is lost... because it doesnt have a name!

Craig has a sweet program which changes the image of the USB to any image you choose... its fun!

Its her name is now Princess Arabella. but now she needs a picture to go with her name. which is the hard bit. i cant decide. the image will only be about a cm square... and needs to look good. hmm these are my options for now, until i find a better one i like.

Banksy

i like Banksy. and i love his work. i also love the fact that no1 really knows what he looks like. i have the balloon girl floating on a hoodie :) and i took the bottom one with the naked man in Bristol, im pretty sure its a Banksy, but im not too sure.

i love his sense of humour too... his documentary Exit Through The Gift Shop has landed a top prize at the annual Grierson Trust awards in London.  Banksy joked: "This is a very proud moment for me. I've always dreamt of winning a Grierson Award ever since I first heard about them two weeks ago."
